Zion's National Park

To continue about our Trip... we drove from SLC to Kanosh and made a short visit to Aaron's Dad's old stomping ground. We then made our way to Zion's. It was beautiful. We actually enjoyed the great outdoors.

This is Aaron and Caroline at the visitor's center. We learned quite a bit about the History (it was established by Mormon pioneers and was a refuge spot for water). We decided how we wanted to spend the next 24 hours by visiting here.
As we drove to a popular tunnel, we took a few snapshots.
We ohhed and awwed the whole way.
We took a break and went to the Weeping Rock. Any part of the year you will see water pouring out from the middle of this rock. Caroline loved hiking up the incline. It was a new thing for her.
On the way up we saw tiny waterfalls. And Caroline had to stop and point at each one and say "Wah"
You can't see the water, but it is falling behind us.
That night, we stayed in a super fun cabin. No T.V. (ya), but it had a fireplace. It was fun. We did retire early, because it got dark and cold fast. I enjoyed reading a book as the other two went to sleep. The next day we planned on getting up and going, but because we were in a valley, the sun didn't reach inside until about 10 o'clock. We then took a little hike to the Emerald pools and really enjoyed ourselves.

We couldn't get over the views.

Caroline had to be transferred to the front pack. She isn't an avid hiker just yet.

Don't get smooshed by the rocks!

Aaron and Caroline being dangerous. This is the furthest pool we could get to.Hi Mom... Aaron is best at taking the up close and personal shots.
This is where the top pool flows over.

Even though it was short, we had a great time there.

Sorry if its boring, that was a bulk of our pictures, but our trip is still not over :)

to be continued...

A First

Well, we made it home from our first road trip! We have lots of fun pictures and videos to share. I won't be able to do it all in one day (because Caroline will not let me), but I'll do it in a few posts. We had lots of fun visiting family and seeing new things.

Here is a little recap of what we did the first few days.

Our first stop was Salt Lake City. The drive was 7 and a half hours long and Caroline did really well. She was ecastic when we turned on Signing Time in the car. We met up with my Mom in Draper and saw her home that she is remodeling. We also went thru the amazing Draper Temple. It was nice to see my grandma who isn't doing well. We made our rounds to Cafe Rio. Stopped in Ikea and found a few fun things. We stayed at Aaron's uncle's beautiful home. And we also visited my Grandpa O.

The day after we came back, Caroline decided she could walk down our step. She tries to walk up it, but can't quite do it without help.

Spring Time

Well even though it snowed today, I have high hopes of spring in the near future! How beautiful is this flower! Thanks for the advice on our adventure! It will be something! We'll tell you how it goes...

Keeping busy

Aaron had to take a State Ethics exam this morning. He has to pass it to be an "official" lawyer. He has been faithfully studying all week- which means we had to keep busy to keep sane. I decided to be brave and buy some beautiful material to make a dress for Caroline. If I ever finish it, I'll let you know. On the other hand we are also preparing for our road trip. The official destination is Las Vegas, but we will stop in Salt Lake and Zion's national park along the way. (Okay it's not really 'along the way.') We will be in the car for over 30 hours total. Anyone have any advice to keep Caroline busily entertained in the car? Any special tricks shared, besides videos and candy, would be greatly appreciated!

Toes!

Well, we sneaked up on her and got the video! The reason she stopped is because she lost the crumb. There isn't much sound at all in the videos because I didn't want her to stop. You don't have to watch them-they may not be so funny to you, but we find them hilarious. At least she didn't eat the crumbs after putting them in between her toes (like she has done before).

This video is a bit longer, but she says apple so well that I love it!

Is March really the snowiest month in Denver?

This week it hit 73 degrees in Denver! Bring out the shorts and T-Shirts! It has been beautiful, a bit windy at times, but I won't complain too much! We had to go and take a walk around the neighborhood-of course in the wagon that Caroline is obsessed with!
P.S. For those that don't know, we house-sit a home. We will never be able to afford a home in this neighborhood.
Bright and Sunny! She is testing the limits to see how far she can go.
